THE MONK
Even though, as with the Oxford and the Derby, the monk strap consists of a vamp and side pieces, it differs drastically from the former models to stand in a category of its own: its two quarters are held together by a striking buckle.
Should a monk shoe feature two side buckles instead of a single one, it’s referred to as a „double monk“. Some of our monks do have a special elastic stitching in order to provide a better fit.
The Saint Crispin’s signature models for Monks are: Mod. 107 presenting a single buckle monk and model 505 presenting a two buckle monk, both with elatic sided buckles where needed.
